  1. Draft Copyright Bill: The Nigerian Copyright Commission recently published a Draft Copyright Bill, 2015. Stakeholders have been invited to review the bill and forward their comments to the Commission by January 5, 2016. More details here and here.
  2. Supervising Ministers for IP Agencies: With the inauguration of Ministers on November 11, 2015 by the Buhari-led administration, it is important for stakeholders to know the supervising Ministers/Ministry for the IP agencies in Nigeria. Here goes:
    1. Nigerian Copyright Commission – Abubakar Malami (Attorney General/Minister of Justice)
    2. Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry – Okechukwu Enelemah and Aisha Abubakar (Minister and Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment)

In the same vein, Geoffrey Onyeama was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
